Wild thing ~ You make my heart sing!

Gentleman Farmer was cutting some firewood at the top of our property and had asked if I would bring him some cold water to drink. After I brought him a jug of water and a cup, I was looking around to see if there were any little wild black berries ripe for picking. I didn't find any, but I did discover several of these dainty little plants growing out of the rock of an old road bed. I borrowed GF's shovel and a bucket and dug up several in hopes that they might like growing in the dry flower bed in front of the barn. I planted them immediately to give them every opportunity to survive their change of venue.

Isn't she a pretty little thing?

Do you have any idea what this little wild flower might be?

I think that is Deptford Pink, Dianthus armeria. It grows up to 2 feet.

It could also be Phlox(pink) with the yellow center which grows to 20 inches.
